MiG-15 (USSR , Modern)

Amercom delivered another book in the series "Aircraft of the World" - this time includes a model MiG-15 1 / 72 scale.

few words about a hero section:)

In 1947 Mikoyan and Gurevich bureau has designed a modern fighter airframe designated as I-310 ("I" from istriebitiel - fighter), but lacked in the Soviet Union motor suitable for this modern machine. The problem was solved when the British government has released its new Soviet turbojet engine, Rolls-Royce Nene Mk. I which in a short time, copied and labeled Klimov RD-45. This solved the problem and the third prototype of the new engine took to the air 30 December 1947. A new type of machine under the designation MiG-15 entered service in early 1949.

In the same year was also an improved version of an airplane with an engine WK-1 with a larger sequence, designated as the MiG-15bis, and in 1950 - Two-seat training version of the MiG-15 UTI. The production is also undertaken in Poland and Czechoslovakia. These machines are

  • MiG-15 produced in Czechoslovakia is S-102 in Poland Lim-1 (the "Licence fighter")
  • MiG-15bis , respectively, S-104 and Lim -2
  • MiG-15UTI is depending on the engine A-102 and A-104 from Czechoslovakia and SB Lim-1 or SB Lim-2 of the Polish

In Poland also produced the following versions:

  • Lim-1A - reconnaissance aircraft with a camera AFA-21
  • Lim-2R - assault-sign with room for a camera in front of the fairing
  • Lim- 2A - two-seater reconnaissance aircraft assault-

In the 80's, MiG-15 and its versions were found in the air force of some Warsaw Pact countries only in the reserve and was intended, in principle, only to perform auxiliary tasks .
